Exterior Cleaning in Newberg: Zwai at Genesis Exterior Services

About Zwai and Genesis Exterior Services

Genesis Exterior Services is a pressure washing and exterior cleaning company based in Newberg, run by Zwai Mtumkulu. He cleans houses, driveways, patios, windows, gutters and roofs for homeowners and businesses around town.

Zwai is careful about using the right method for each surface. His own advice is to never pressure wash a shingled roof. For roofs and siding he uses soft washing, a low-pressure method with biodegradable cleaners that removes moss, algae and mildew without stripping the shingles or damaging paint.

Why I’m Featuring Zwai

When I’m getting a house ready to list in Newberg, a clean exterior is one of the cheapest ways to improve the first impression. Mossy roofs, green siding and stained driveways show up in every listing photo, and buyers notice them before they walk in the door.

Zwai can handle the roof, gutters, siding, windows and concrete in one visit, and his reviews show he works to fit sellers in before photo day. That makes him an easy call when a listing date is coming up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to pressure wash a roof?

Not a shingled roof. High pressure strips the granules that protect shingles and can shorten the life of the roof. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution to kill and remove moss instead, which is the method Genesis Exterior Services uses.

How often should I have moss removed from my roof in Oregon?

With our wet winters, many roofs around Newberg benefit from a moss treatment every year or two. Roofs under trees or on the north side of a house usually need it more often.

Should I pressure wash my house before selling?

In most cases, yes. A clean exterior, driveway and walkway make the home look better in listing photos and at showings, and moss on the roof can raise questions during a buyer’s inspection. Schedule it a few days before photos.

What is soft washing?

Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that uses biodegradable cleaners to remove algae, moss and mildew. It’s gentler than pressure washing, so it’s the better choice for roofs, siding and painted surfaces.

Does Genesis Exterior Services work on businesses too?

Yes. Zwai cleans both homes and commercial buildings.
