IT Support in Newberg: Josiah at NextTech Consultants

About Josiah and NextTech Consultants

NextTech Consultants is Josiah Philipsen’s IT company. It’s based in Newberg, with team members in McMinnville, Hillsboro, Tigard and Vancouver, and it handles IT support in Newberg and around the Portland metro for businesses that don’t have their own IT person.

Josiah was a business owner before he started NTC, and that’s the reason it exists. He knows what it’s like to lose half a day to a tech problem that shouldn’t have happened. His pitch is a team of six that answers the phone and fixes problems before you notice them.

Their clients include Head Start of Yamhill County, Caravan Coffee and 1882 Grille in McMinnville.

What NextTech Consultants Covers

• Managed IT. 24/7 monitoring, unlimited support, and device management for Mac, PC and mobile, plus backups, antivirus and security patches.

• Cybersecurity. Teams of 12 or more get three SPECTRA security certifications (endpoint, business email and backup), each backed by a $10,000 warranty.

Managed IT is a flat $219 per employee per month, according to their pricing page. They work a lot with legal and medical offices, nonprofits, and construction and trades companies, and they list certifications or partner status with Apple, AWS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and RingCentral.

Why I’m Featuring Josiah

Most of the small businesses I work with don’t have an IT person. The owner, or whoever is best with computers, ends up fixing the printer, resetting passwords and hoping the backups work. NextTech takes that off their plate for a flat monthly price, and the team is right here in Newberg and McMinnville.

It comes up in real estate too. When a client moves an office or starts running a business out of a new home, someone has to set up the network and move everything over. Josiah is who I’d call.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is managed IT?

Managed IT means an outside company acts as your IT department for a monthly fee. They watch your computers and network, keep security up to date, run backups and fix problems, so you don’t pay by the hour every time something breaks.

Can they help when I move my office or set up a home business?

Their services include cloud migration, email setup, device management and buying hardware at cost, so it’s worth calling them before the move rather than after.
